About

During the eighties, we moved to Ballycurreen where we could grow the workshop team and commit to bigger projects. Since then, we moved to a bigger premises nearby in Ballycurreen and widened our scope of services to take on a broad range of fabrication jobs.

The eighties, nineties and noughties were times of further growth and consolidation as we added more customers from more diverse sectors, and established closer relationships with some of the existing customers and suppliers that we had been trading with. We are happy to say that many of these relationships are as strong today as they have ever been.

Our History

Founded in 1978 as MacAllister Engineering Ltd., the company’s first offices were in Douglas West. A portfolio of domestic and multinational customers quickly grew from our early offerings of dust extraction and central vacuum systems for industry.

Companies from
the agricultural sector like provender mills, saw-mills and creameries along with a number of pharmaceuticals, joineries, food producers, breweries and distilleries kept our services in demand and our office lights on in these early days.

Here at Horizon Furniture we produce high end bespoke furniture for home and office. When we relocated recently we needed the experts to advise on what extraction was needed for our small sized studio workshop. Bobby from MAE air systems called to look at our needs. The new workshop is low ceilinged and awkward but between the design, the high quality materials and Eric's efficient and tidy fitting it works amazingly well. Highly recommended.
